VARIETYPORTAL

Business problem routing

Stop shopping for solutions before you know what problem you have.

A branding agency sees a brand problem.

A web company sees a website problem.

An automation consultant sees an automation problem.

Variety Portal starts before the solution. We decompose the symptom, explore 216 alternative paths, eliminate poor fits and recommend what should happen first — and who should handle it.

  • Diagnostic-first
  • Multiple pathways
  • Human-reviewed recommendation
  • Relationships disclosed

The most expensive solution is the right solution to the wrong problem.

A company with inconsistent leads may buy advertising when it actually has weak positioning. It may rebuild the website when the real failure is follow-up. It may install automation when nobody has repaired the process being automated.

Misdiagnosis creates

  • More tools
  • More vendors
  • More activity
  • More cost
  • Conflicting recommendations
  • No clear owner
  • Little evidence that the real constraint changed

The neutral starting point

You bring the symptom. We find the route.

Variety Portal does not begin with a predetermined deliverable. The analysis may route you to strategy, implementation, a specialized provider, an internal decision, more evidence — or no purchase yet.

The purpose is not to generate the longest list of things you could do. It is to identify the smallest sufficient intervention capable of producing useful evidence.

The Variety Routing Protocol™

Six stages between the symptom and the first move.

  1. Describe the symptom

Tell us what is happening, what you expected and what it is costing.

  2. Decompose the system

We separate the people, objects, conditions, actions, tools, resources, dependencies and outcomes.

  3. Generate variety

The 6×6×6 engine explores 216 alternative states and paths.

  4. Eliminate poor fits

Options are tested against evidence, urgency, cost, reversibility, capacity and strategic fit.

  5. Prescribe the first move

The recommendation explains what should happen, why it comes first and what evidence should result.

  6. Route the work

When implementation is needed, we recommend an affiliated company, a coordinated combination or an outside specialist.

Problems we route

The sentence you would use. The constraints underneath it.

  • “We need more leads.”

Possible constraints include positioning, offer, visibility, proof, conversion, follow-up, sales capacity or measurement.

  • “Our website is not working.”

Possible constraints include traffic quality, messaging, local relevance, accessibility, trust, user journey or sales response.

  • “We need AI or automation.”

Possible constraints include process design, information quality, ownership, exception handling or choosing a task that should not be automated.

  • “The team keeps dropping the ball.”

Possible constraints include unclear decisions, missing resources, fragile handoffs, incentives, capacity or a process with no alternative path.

  • “Our brand needs a refresh.”

Possible constraints include identity, category, audience, promise, proof, experience or implementation inconsistency.

  • “We do not know what to do next.”

That is exactly what Variety Portal is designed to route.

Engagements

Start small. Escalate only when the evidence says to.

Affiliated routes

Specialized companies, one diagnostic front door.

Depending on the assessment, Variety Portal may route work to a specialist in:

  • Brand intelligence
  • Adaptive growth execution
  • Websites and local demand
  • Digital accessibility
  • Smart-home intelligence
  • Search-intent analysis
  • Marketing diagnostics
  • Strategy generation
  • Forecasting
  • Sourced independently

Variety Portal evaluates multiple paths. When we recommend a company affiliated with Variety Portal, we disclose that relationship. When an outside specialist is a better fit, we can recommend or help source one. Referral or commercial relationships are disclosed before engagement.

Questions

Before you start the scan.

Is Variety Portal a marketplace?
Not initially. It is a diagnostic and routing service. You are not asked to browse hundreds of profiles or accept competing bids before the problem is understood.
Do you always recommend one of your own companies?
No. Affiliated companies are recommended only when the analysis supports the fit, and the relationship is disclosed. The correct route may be an outside specialist, an internal action or no purchase.
What does 216 paths mean?
The engine combines six interrogatives, six relational modifiers and six quantitative scales to challenge assumptions and generate alternative ways to understand or resolve a problem.
Is the engine fully automated?
No. The engine expands the possibility space; human judgment reviews evidence, feasibility, risk and context.
What if I already know what I need?
Use the scan to confirm the route. Clear, evidence-backed needs can move directly to the appropriate provider.

You may not need more solutions. You may need the problem routed correctly.
