Trust architecture
Relationship disclosure.
Variety Portal evaluates multiple paths. When we recommend a company affiliated with Variety Portal, we disclose that relationship. When an outside specialist is a better fit, we can recommend or help source one. Referral or commercial relationships are disclosed before engagement.
What that means in practice
Six commitments.
- We state the relationship before you engage
- Any affiliated company we recommend is identified as affiliated at the point of recommendation — not in a footnote discovered afterwards.
- We publish the routing table
- The mapping from diagnosed constraint to likely provider is public. You can inspect which conclusions lead to which of our companies before you start.
- Outside specialists are a real outcome
- When nobody in the portfolio fits, we say so. We can recommend or help source an independent specialist, and any referral or commercial arrangement with them is disclosed before engagement.
- “No purchase yet” is a permitted conclusion
- The analysis is explicitly allowed to recommend an internal action, more evidence, or nothing at all. A diagnosis that can never say “do not buy” is not a diagnosis.
- We do not manufacture urgency
- If the cost of waiting is low, we will tell you that, even where it costs us the engagement.
- Regulated matters go to licensed professionals
- Legal, medical, financial, safety and other regulated questions require appropriate qualified professionals. We can route the business-system aspects around them; we do not substitute for them.

Scope of advice
What Variety Portal is not.
The Problem Route Scan is a preliminary business intake. Neither it nor the 216-Path Business Assessment constitutes legal, financial, medical, accounting, tax or other regulated professional advice, and neither should be relied on as a substitute for a qualified licensed professional in those domains.
Where a situation touches a regulated matter, we will identify which parts we can route as business-system questions and which require a licensed professional, and we will say so plainly rather than proceeding around it.
Questions about a specific relationship, or about how a recommendation was reached, can be raised at any point before or during an engagement.
